Real Estate With Integrity

You’ve heard it said before, but it is so true: For most of us, buying or selling real estate will be the single largest financial transaction of our lifetime. This can feel daunting. A good real estate agent can make this process manageable and help you to make a good quality investment. Selecting a real estate agent brings its own concerns. You want to be confident and comfortable with the person you choose to represent you and protect your interests. Is your agent a thoughtful communicator? Do they answer your questions quickly and thoroughly? And perhaps most importantly, do you trust them?

With these questions in mind, I'd like to give you some information on who I am and the values that I strive to bring to every transaction and client interaction.

My name is Ryan Pederson and I was raised in Seattle. I'm a third generation Realtor® (or fourth if you count my great-grandfather Oscar, who worked for my grandfather for a time - that counts right?). I started my career, at the family business, with George W. Johnson Realtors, based in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood since 1936. If you are “old time Ballard” you’ll probably remember the big red awning and cartoon George waving to you as you traveled along 15th. In short, real estate is in my blood.

My grandfather George, opened that office and worked six days a week until age 98, taught me many things. Among them: How to bake bread. How to make the perfect batch of home-made ice cream (hint: the secret involves an old pair of pants, a sledge hammer and a brick of ice). The value of your work. How to get into a golfer's head before teeing off, to ensure they landed in the sand trap ("Great day for the beach!"). That family is the most important thing in life. And with real estate, like life, nothing matters more than your name and integrity.

My father, R. Sid Pederson, sold real estate for over 20 years through the office and imprinted his "house hound" passion onto me. In addition, I worked for my dad on occasion, helping him to remodel several homes and I worked as an apprentice carpenter in another life. I find my background in construction is yet another way I help serve my clients' interests.

My attitudes about real estate also grow out of my formal education. I graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in literature. I like to tell clients that this just means I'm as comfortable talking about Aeschylus as escalator clauses. Occidental taught me about the value of community and the responsibility that comes with being a Citizen (big C).

In addition to bringing home a degree from Oxy, I also met my amazing wife, April, there. Like many transplants from California, she has come to call Seattle home (we don't hold this against her (much) anymore). We have a young daughter who keeps us laughing and ever so humble.

I aspire to incorporate my history and these values into my work. This translates to conducting business with honesty and integrity.

I have recently joined Compass and simply love that I can marry my background and history with the trailblazing, technological tools (TTT) at our company to provide my clients with exceptional service in all areas…from the first phone call to keys…and beyond.

I hope this gives you a clear idea of who I am and what I can bring to our business together. For more information, I encourage you to please reach out or look at my reference page as well. I look forward to working with you….let’s get started!
